ORGANIZATION: South Texas Marksmanship Training Center, Inc
2. NUMBER OF SHOOTERS / RELAYS/ FIRING POINTS: 34 in two relays, on 17 firing points.
3. SCHEDULE: The range opens at 8:00AM. Shooters should arrive by 8:15AM for target setup. Firing starts at 9:00AM, and typically finishes around 12:00 noon.
4. MATCH CONDITIONS:
RULES: The Smallbore MINI Palma & F-Class Match course of fire is governed by NRA Competition smallbore rules. All shooting is single shot (load one round at a time), slow fire, approximately one shot per minute.
OPEN TO: Any person eligible to compete under NRA Competition Rules.
COURSE OF FIRE:
Stage 1. 20 minutes for two sighters and 15 record shots. ■ Mini-Palma 800-yard target reduced for 100 yards. ■ 3 minutes of preparation time and 2 minutes for two sighter shots. ■ Make the line safe, then go forward and place a fresh target. ■ 15 minutes for 15 shots of record fire. ■ Make the line safe, then go forward and place a sighter target for Stage 2. ■ Return to the firing line, score your target, and get ready for Stage 2.
Stage 2. 20 minutes for two sighters and 15 record shots, ■ Mini-Palma 900-yard target reduced for 100 yards. ■ 3 minutes of preparation time and 2 minutes for two sighter shots. ■ Make the line safe, then go forward and place a fresh target. ■ 15 minutes for 15 shots of record fire. ■ Make the line safe, then go down and place the next sighter target on your frame ■ Return to the firing line, score your target, and get ready for the next stage. Stage 2. 20 minutes for two sighters and 15 record shots.
Stage 3. 20 minutes for two sighters and 15 record shots ■ Mini-Palma 1000-yard target reduced for 100 yards. ■ 3 minutes of preparation time and 2 minutes for two sighter shots. ■ Make the line safe, then go forward and place a fresh target. ■ 15 minutes for 15 shots of record fire. ■ Make the line safe, then go down and place the next sighter target on your frame ■ Return to the firing line, score your target, and get ready for the next stage.
SHOOTER CATEGORIES:
PALMA CLASS: Palma Class rifles in .22 caliber LR (Long Rifle) rim-fire. Shooter is required to utilize the prone sling position as described in the NRA Rules for Smallbore competition. Iron sights only: Open sights or aperture (peep) sights. No rifle support is allowed.
F-CLASS T/R: Rifles and Equipment as stated in the NRA F-Class T/R rules, except ammunition must be .22 caliber LR (rim-fire). Rifle may have a scope installed, a bi-pod may be attached to the rifle for support, and a rear support bag is authorized.
F-CLASS OPEN: Rifles and Equipment as stated in the NRA F-Class Open rules, except ammunition must be .22 caliber LR (rim-fire). Shooters may use a front and/or rear rifle supporting device not attached to the rifle. Bi-pods are not allowed. A rear support bag is authorized.
.17 CALIBER RIMFIRE CLASS: This is an optional class for those that want to shoot this smaller caliber. No Center Fire .17 rifles will be allowed. This class will be scored as a separate category.
Spotting scopes are authorized for all categories. Shooters may shoot from either prone or bench-rest positions. The STMTC range firing line has 17 firing points. A limited number of benches are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
AMMUNITION: Competitors furnish their own ammunition. It must be .22 caliber LR (Long Rifle) rim fire (any type and grade the competitor chooses). The match requires 45 shots for record, plus whatever sighter shot ammunition is needed.
MATCH FEES: $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for juniors.
